I started off carrying a backpack on all of my training runs and was knackered. Now I train in a very similar way to you. Big distances at the weekend with a lightish pack and then speed sessions during the week. I just posted last night how I thoguht all of this stupid distance during the weeke is a waste of time. Quick short sessions during the week, then some long slow shuffles at the weekend. Nice to see you carrying on with all this malarky, it gets addictive doesnt it? &lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;By the way, if you're interested, the Racing the Planet series is doing a multi-stage day event in Australia in 2010, should be awesome. If you register, they hold a place for you, and contact you when you need to make the first payment. So a nice easy way to go about it all. Good luck and hope the training carries on well for you.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/607679230499437199/1473693881213281935/comments/default/4174656091631773053'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/607679230499437199/1473693881213281935/comments/default/4174656091631773053'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.desertrace.co.uk/2008/11/kalahari-marathon-training-and.html?showComment=1226870280000#c4174656091631773053' title=''/><author><name>Dan</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/15262033841002555770</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.desertrace.co.uk/2008/11/kalahari-marathon-training-and.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-607679230499437199.post-1473693881213281935' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/607679230499437199/posts/default/1473693881213281935' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-1005464818'/></entry></feed>
